Choose The 1999 Academy Award Winners!

By Matt Holmes /

Updated: Ok, so I've had way to many emails from you guys pointing out that the Oscar form isn't working for some of you this time around. I've put my best team of problem solvers on the issue and they can't work it out, but 7 or 8 of you have told me it's not working for you... so I presume there's many more out there. To date we've had a little less entries than last time, so this problem is too much for me to ignore. My only solution for now is for you to email your picks to editor@obsessedwithfilm.com. I will be collating results on Monday or Tuesday, so you've got a bit of time left to enter. Now you've read our 1999 Academy Awards retrospective, here's your chance to re-write history without the hassle of going back in time in a DeLorean or a Hot Tub. Below is the OWF Oscar Ballot, a new feature where we give our dear readers the chance to vote for what movie/performances should have taken home the Oscar in a particular year - because we all know the Academy rarely get it right the first time! So it's movies released in 1998 for the 1999 Oscar season that is in question for this retrospective and the controversial year that John Madden's Shakespeare in Love beat out war film classics from Terrence Malick and Steven Spielberg. All you need to do to make your voice heard is fill in the following form with your 5 choices for each category (1 being the highest weighted, and 5 being the lowest) and after a week we will let you know the results and give out an OWF Award to whichever movie/performance ranks the most popular. I shall also periodically update this post over the week with some user entries. You can also check out the results from our 2000 Retrospective Here.
