Chris Nolan Says No To Justice League & Future Batman Movies

Christopher Nolan is officially done with the Batman universe. In a new interview with the Associated Press, the Brit director has revealed that he has no plans to be involved in "helping in any capacity" the development on a Justice League film and also has no plans to stay involved in the Batman film universe at Warner Bros as they plot the inevitable reboot. So the not so surprising but still hard to swallow announcement is, he's 100% finished with Batman. From the sounds of things there'll be no mentoring or "Godfathering" of another film such as he is doing with Zack Snyder's Superman reboot Man of Steel that opens next year and he'll not be sticking around for too much creative input on whomever WB decide should helm the Batman film series from here. His reply to The Associated Press' questioning regarding if he had any plans for future involvement in the Justice League project was swift and clear;

"No, none at all," Nolan said. "We're finished with all we're doing with Batman. This is the end of our take on this character."

And then he delivered the Batman hammer blow;

He also said he not intend to get involved with any future solo Batman films when distributor Warner Bros., which owns DC Comics, decides the time is right to launch a new take on the masked vigilante. "Batman will outlive us all, and our interpretation was ours. Obviously, we consider it definitive and kind of finished. The great thing about Batman is he lives on for future generations to reinterpret, and obviously, Warners will have to decide in the future what they're going to do with him," Nolan said. "We've had our say on the character. ... "I've got no plans to do anything more, and certainly, no involvement with any 'Justice League' project."
