2. Nikki Kills Herself - Obsession

Obsession features one of the cruellest endings in recent horror movie history, as after Bear (Michael Johnston) realises the only way to stop Nikki's (Inde Navarrette) obsessive rampage is with his own death, he takes a fatal overdose of oxycodone.

However, Bear ends up chickening out and attempting to vomit up the pills, just as Nikki breaks her own One Wish Willow, compelling him to exit the bathroom, at which point he swiftly dies from an overdose.

A devastated Nikki then prepares to shoot herself, but Bear's death of course frees her from his wish, returning her to full consciousness as she screams in terror at the human carnage surrounding her.

But Curry Barker's original written ending was decidedly more Romeo and Juliet-esque, with Nikki simply shooting herself dead. 

However, during filming he allowed actress Inde Navarrette to shoot a single alternate take where Nikki survives, and with his father urging him that this ending was ultimately more disturbing, Barker decided to use it.
