Creed 2 Trailer Reaction: 6 Ups & 3 Downs

Another typical boxing movie? We'll see.

The first trailer for the highly anticipated Creed 2 just dropped, and though it doesn't necessarily convince that it'll be anything more than a solidly above-average boxing sequel, that'd honestly be a pretty great showing for the standards of this franchise (because fans will never forgot Rocky V).

Employing smart, pulsing use of Kendrick Lamar's iconic tune "DNA", the trailer makes it abundantly clear that the sports drama sequel won't deviate too much from the established style or formula, while trying its absolute hardest to fill the void left by departing director Ryan Coogler.

A lot of questions are left hanging regarding the health of Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) and the nature of Adonis' (Michael B. Jordan) new opponent, but as a first look at one of the holiday period's most anticipated movies, it at least suggests this isn't going to be another wonky, misguided Rocky sequel. Just how good it'll really be, of course, remains to be seen...
