Daily Vid: Morals vs. Life Long Collection in HIGH FIDELITY!

The morally challenging scene which would have been one of the highlights of the film had it not been shamefully cut!

By Matt Holmes /

So I found myself watching High Fidelity for the 100th time last on t.v, still love it - British author Nick Hornby has a way of tapping into my likes and psychology better than any other writer on the planet. Now I was sure I had already used this following video for my Greatest Scenes feature but after a quick search it appears I haven't. Just in case I have used this video before in a post then I must apologize but it's worth seeing again.

If your familiar with the 2001 Stephen Frears movie then you will know mid-way through the movie Rob gets a phone call at the store and you see him writing down an address and saying something like "Yeah I'm interested". Well that was the setup to the following scenes, one of the more memorable parts of the novel which was shamefully cut for time from the final feature. I can't believe they cut a scene this good out of the movie. So now just ask yourself where your morals would lie if you were a long time collector/appreciator of something and you stumble across this situation where a hurt and pissed off wife will set it to you for next to nothing to get back at her husband. Could you do it? If your not a record collector - imagine if you came across Amazing Fantasy #1, Fantastic Four #3 and that was just two singles in a large collection. Or that rare, only 5 produced DVD - or limited edition and signed first print of a Tolkien book. Could you morally say no?

DAILY VID - A brand new feature where we showcase one video I have found cool, humorous, insightful, interesting or all of the above!
