It looks like Vincent Cassel and Rosario Dawson have taken the roles previously linked to Colin Firth and Scarlett Johansson in Danny Boyles hotly anticipated2013 thriller Trance. My last article on this very promising of forthcoming projects had Oscar winning Firth and the blonde bombshell Johansson rumoured for the co-leads alongside X-Men's James McAvoy, who is still the only confirmed cast member at present. But now Deadline say it's almost certain that French dynamo Cassel and Sin City star Dawson will be joining the Scot. After the major success of Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours, Boyle now has the power to construct an irresistible cast, with the added help of a fresh concept backed by his tight script. The film itself concerns Simon (McAvoy) an art auction house assistant who finds himself caught up in a robbery with a group of your run of the mill criminals. All goes to plan, the loot stashed but then (cue the dramatic music) McAvoy gets a blow to the head which results in a rather apt case of amnesia. With the whereabouts of the loot becoming a mystery, the criminals cart him off to a hypnotist to seek out where their dirty money has gone. Cassel (Irreversible, Merine & Black Swan to name but a few) will presumably be the leader of the crooks, a role which was once rumoured for Firth and earlier still a very busy Michael Fassbender in what would have been a reunion of the X-Men. Death Proofs Rosario Dawson will presumably be the hypnotist, replacing an equally busy Johansson. Filming starts in September and then breaks whilst Boyle sees to the London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony. Post-production will pick up in late 2012 for an early 2013 release.
