DC Extended Universe: 5 Best & 5 Worst Characters Introduced In 2016

Two movies. A batboatload of new faces.

With the one-two punch of Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad, 2016 marked a big moment for Warner Bros. and DC's fledgling Extended Universe, the two films building on the groundwork laid down for them by 2013's Man of Steel to craft a larger franchise dedicated to bringing countless DC characters to life for years to come.

Unfortunately, both films came under a lot of critical fire for numerous issues - narrative problems, misguided casting, and so on - that has unquestionably divided fans. Some have come to love them, some have come to hate them, and others are simply still feeling the sting of disappointment. Between the two projects, numerous characters fan had been looking forward to see brought to life were no less subjects of adoration and derision than the films themselves, splitting opinions left and right.

This year introduced a slew of new faces into the DCEU, heroes, villains, and otherwise. Some barely had time to register, like The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg, the verdicts on which are out until we get to spend more time with them next year, but for those we did get to fully meet this year, there's a wide gulf between those who stole the show and those who had us rolling our eyes. With the dust settled on the two films now, let's take a look at the 5 best and 5 worst characters the DCEU introduced this year...
