4. Enchantress (Suicide Squad)

More often than not, it seems that comic book movie villains draw the short end of the stick in terms of memorability. No matter how cool they may look, all it takes is a poor performance or complete lack of characterization to undermine their presence in a story, robbing them of any strengths they could've had had they been done right and replacing them with disappointment. Armed with an admittedly cool appearance and even a pretty effective introductory scene, Enchantress got off on the right foot in Suicide Squad, only for the film itself to squander it all away by doing exactly what I just talked about.

There's nothing special about her ultimate motivations - destroy all mankind, we're led to assume - and there's no real weight to what she does, whether it's turning the populace of Midway City into monsters or opening up a portal whose actual purpose is unclear. She's not present in huge chunks of the film, nor does she herself have any relationship or link to any of the titular group save Rick Flag, her mere existence only serving to put a ticking clock on the proceedings rather than actually add something to it.

Throw in the fact that she loses her grungy, animalistic appearance not much longer after her introduction and the infamous gyrating hip dance and it all stacks up to add what could've been a fascinating villain to a long list of forgettable cinematic antagonists.
