DC FanDome Serves Up Full Cast Reveal And Sneak Peak For James Gunn's The Suicide Squad
So Idris Elba isn't playing Deadshot or Bronze Tiger after all, then...
While so much of the attention of this weekend’s DC FanDome extravaganza will go towards Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight, Zack Snyder’s intended vision for his Justice League, or even Dwayne Johnson’s Teth-Adam, one of the other big stories to come out of DC FanDome is the full cast reveal for James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.
Previously, we’ve known who will be featuring in Gunn’s Task Force X picture, but it was yet to be revealed just who the majority of the film’s cast would be playing in the film. Well, that mystery has now well and truly been solved!
In addition to Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney and Joel Kinnaman reprising their respective roles as Harley Quinn, Amanda Waller, Captain Boomerang and Rick Flag, the full list of new additions reads as follows:
- Idris Elba as Bloodsport
- Storm Reid as Tyla, daughter of Bloodsport
- Peter Capaldi as The Thinker
- John Cena as Peacemaker
- Nathan Fillion as mystery character T.D.K.
- David Dastmalchian as Polka-Dot Man
- Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher
- Flula Borg as Javelin
- Pete Davidson as Blackguard
- Alice Braga as Solsoria
- Mayling Ng as Mongal
- Michael Rooker as Savant
- Sean Gunn as Weasel
- Steve Agee as the voice of King Shark
While we could spend all day breaking down each and every one of those characters, the one that really jumps off the page is Bloodsport.
Upon first being suggested as taking over the Deadshot role from Will Smith, it was largely believed that Idris Elba’s role in The Suicide Squad would be that of Bronze Tiger. Instead, Elba will be playing long-time Superman foe (and badass merc, to boot!) Bloodsport.
