DCEU Rumour: Flashpoint Movie WILL Film After Fantastic Beasts 3
Could The Flash film in 2020?
It's been a long time since we've really heard anything about the upcoming stand-alone Flash movie (which may or may not include a big role for Ray Fisher's Cyborg). To be honest, not much of what we have heard to date has been all that positive, with upheaval behind the scenes and uncertainty on the future of the project.
But it looks like the movie will still go ahead. Long thought to be a Flashpoint movie (and an opportunity for Warner Bros to perform a soft reboot on the DCEU and eject the bits that haven't worked out so well), but quite whether that's the film we're going to get now remains to be seen.
Still, it seems that the film is still in the works and Ezra Miller is still on board as the titular hero. At least, that's according to Variety anyway. They've included Miller on their Power of Pride List for 2019 and his profile includes a telling line:
"Miller, who plays the ultra-swift superhero The Flash, will get his DC Universe stand alone film as soon as he wraps up his work on the Harry Potter spinoff series Fantastic Beasts."
That doesn't mean it's happening any time soon, though. Fantastic Beasts 3 was delayed not so long ago and won't kick off in July as initially intended. Instead, it'll go ahead early in 2020 with an expected release date of 2021 (presumably around Christmas again). That would suggest that Miller will start on The Flash/Flashpoint in 2020.
Recent reports have suggested that Miller will help co-write the script himself along with Grant Morrison and that the star could move on if his script isn't used. But we've heard nothing else on that front, so who knows.
