12. Vanessa Becomes Copycat
The Rumour: After many fans were dismayed that Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) got a pretty mediocre showing in the first movie, it was widely speculated that she'd get a beefier role in the sequel, perhaps even taking up her comic book persona, Copycat (whose primarily ability is copying people down to the cellular level).
The Truth: Vanessa ends up having a disappointingly small role in Deadpool 2, getting fridged in the opening 10 minutes, showing up for a few scenes set in the afterlife and then mercifully being resurrected in the mid-credits montage.
It's been suggested this was to accommodate her hefty shooting schedule on Gotham, so fingers crossed she may end up joining the X-Force as Copycat in Deadpool 3. Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have indicated they're not against the idea of introducing the superhero if the stars align in the right way.
