Deadpool 3: 8 MCU Characters That Need To Appear

The world is ready for Deadpool vs Thanos.

It’s not too uncommon for the internet to be broken by the Marvel Cinematic Universe news. Spider-Man’s appearance in the Civil War trailer, the first footage of Infinity War, and of course the Professor X tease in the Multiverse of Madness trailer are all up there with the best of them.

However, you could argue that nothing has gotten MCU fans as excited for a movie quite like Ryan Reynolds’ video confirming Deadpool 3, and with it the little detail that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine would be returning. The Merc with the Mouth is finally coming to the MCU and he is bringing Logan with him. There’s no reason to think that this will be all, however.

There are plenty of already established MCU characters that could also show their faces in the third Deadpool movie, and in a number of different capacities.

The nature of the character and of the movie allows for meta moments unlike any other MCU property, and it’s entirely possible that there could be more cameos and familiar faces appearing than in the Multiverse of Madness.

Without getting hopes up prematurely, as is exactly what happened with the Doctor Strange sequel, there are some names that simply need to join the Deadpool 3 cast list.

8. Nick Fury

Nick Fury has been one of the most consistent pieces throughout the first four Phases of the MCU. From the very first movie through to Spider-Man: Far From Home, and of course the upcoming Secret Invasion, Fury has seen it all.

Aside from working his way up to Director of SHIELD, it was his Avengers Initiative that helped save the world. He recruited the likes of Captains Marvel and America, Iron Man, Black Widow, and Hawkeye, and there’s no telling who else he could bring together in the future.

Realistically, there won’t be a massive presence from Nick Fury in Deadpool 3, but since the man was referenced by the Merc with the Mouth way back in his first movie, he simply has to appear as a cameo. How about a post-credit scene, the very same kind Wade made fun of in his own post-credit scene, in which Sam Jackson in a leather jacket tries to recruit Deadpool to the Avengers?

Just like when Colossus tried to make him an X-Man, the answer would have to be no, but aside from the obvious meta-joke, there is an opportunity for something even better here. As the first-ever R-rated MCU movie, this is the chance to finally let Samuel L. Jackson utter his most famous profanity as Nick Fury.
