Of the plethora of character tics that Ryan Reynolds and his writing team absolutely nailed, it's how insane Deadpool truly is. When you see the amount of torture he goes through to get his regenerative powers, you can easily understand why (one of the few saving graces of the film's trite, unnecessary origin story). Nowhere is this more obvious than minutes into the film as Deadpool shares his cab ride with the affable Dopinder, who doesn't seem at all freaked out that he's giving a lift to a man dressed in a red mask, strapped to the high heavens with weapons. As DP exits the cab, he wishes Dopinder a merry Christmas, for the second time. The naive young driver's reaction is priceless; "And a convivial Tuesday in April to you, Mr. Pool!". The idea that Deadpool is walking around thinking it's Christmas all day is hilarious, and not to mention exactly the kind of thing his comic book version would say and do.
