The best part of Deadpool's close proximity to the main X-franchise is that he can take the complete p*ss out of them for their self-imposed seriousness and it's totally fine. From calling Professor X a "Heaven's Gate-looking motherf*cker" to asking Negasonic Teenage Warhead to "tell Beast to stop sh*tting on my lawn", few of them are safe. It really speaks to the concept of the Deadpool film being an antidote to all the doom and gloom of comic book movies; a trend which is obviously looking to continue with X-Men: Apocalypse, Captain America: Civil War and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Equally, Deadpool is clearly an appetiser for the similar antihero tale that Suicide Squad will be for DC come August.
