3. The Animation Is Terrific
In step with the three other entries into the franchise, this is a ravishingly rendered film, making the most of its diverse array of locales, constant one-upping its own scope and, of course, embracing the absurdity of the insane hi-jinx that Gru and the Minions get caught up in.

Directors Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda make great use of the series' trademark bright colours, insane gadgets and expressive characters, especially Gru's adorable daughter Agnes, to ensure that even when the plot's just ambling along, it's still a feast for the senses and likely to charm both kids and adults in near-equal regard.
