The first teaser trailer for Todd Phillips' Joker has now been released, giving us our best look at Joaquin Phoenix's Clown Prince of Crime, but also a sneak peak of the latest actor to take on the role of Bruce Wayne.

It was reported by ComicBook.com last year that actor Dante Pereira-Olson had been cast in the role of young Master Bruce in the movie, with Douglas Hodge signed on to play the Wayne family butler, Alfred Pennyworth.

Pereira-Olson's casting is pretty shrewd, since the actor played a young version of Phoenix's character in indie thriller You Were Never Really Here. He appears in the teaser at the 1:47 mark, with Arthur Fleck (Phoenix) putting a smile on his face.

It's unlikely that Bruce will have a major part to play in the film, or even in the future since this is expected to be a one-off, but it is part of the film's world-building. The presence of Thomas Wayne (Brett Cullen) looms over the teaser as he runs for Mayor of Gotham, and is expected to have a part to play in the Joker's origin too.

Overall, the teaser does a great job of teasing the movie without giving too much away, selling us on the King of Comedy vibes and Phoenix's performance as the titular character, which so far looks utterly brilliant.
