20 Most Disappointing Horror Movies of the 2020s (So Far)

3. Run Rabbit Run

A horror film starring the legendary Sarah Snook is really all many people needed to hear to get excited, and Run Rabbit Run's premise certainly suggested a ripe showcase for her acting chops.

Snook stars as a fertility doctor whose daughter begins to exhibit increasingly strange and alarming behaviour, prompting her to examine her own torrid past.

How could she not completely devour this role alive? And while Snook gives an exceptional performance in the lead role, she's really the only noteworthy aspect of a film that just isn't built to support her.

As usual, it largely comes down to the script, which trades in over-familiar trauma metaphor tropes, complete with a deeply unsatisfying twist ending which only compounds how liberally the film borrows from similar, better stories.

Unless you're a massive Sarah Snook fan, this one's a tough sell, if only because it so thoroughly squanders her tirelessly committed work.
