Disturbia tops Box Office, Hot Fuzz performs strongly

By Peter Willis /

The studio estimates are in and it was an expectedly poor showing at the box office all around this week, with only 2 movies pulling in more than $10 million. Hot Fuzz was one of few successes this week at the box office, raking in an estimated $5.68 million. This may not seem much, but when you consider the movie was only shown at almost 2/3rd's less theaters than it's rivals at the top of the chart the figure is phenomenal. It's no surprise though, Simon Pegg's latest effort was a roaring success in the UK when released a couple of months ago - and with an IMDB rating of 8.2 and critical appraise all around it was always going to have people eager to see it.
