On September 7th, 2012 judgement will be carried out by Karl Urban in the reboot of 2000 AD€™s flagship cash cow. This is the second time we€™ll have seen Judge Joe Dredd on the big screen, but last time round it didn€™t go so well. So why should we believe this time will be any different? Here€™s 4 reasons to be excited about this summer's Dredd.

1. We Will Not See Karl Urban's Face

Nothing against Karl Urban. We€™re sure he€™s a lovely looking fella, but it€™s an absolute must that he keeps his helmet on for the duration of the movie - and should it ever come off then his face MUST be obscured. One of the biggest flaws of the (highly flawed) Judge Dredd movie was it€™s star Sylvester Stallone insisting that no one would want to watch the film unless they could see his face. Sadly, Stallone€™s surgically enhanced mush had just the opposite effect. Judge Dredd without his helmet on is like making a biopic of Hulk Hogan and not having the trademark hair and mustache combo. It shouldn€™t happen and thankfully - this time around - it wont.

2. Olivia Thirlby is Judge Anderson

According to John Wagner, Olivia Thirlby brings such a vulnerability to the Dredd story that it€™s easy to forget just who her character will become later in the timeline. But don€™t think Judge Anderson has gone soft, oh no! In an interview with craveonline.com she described how she gets to break a mans neck with a roundhouse kick. She will also be clad in a tight leather bodysuit, giving the film the sex appeal the first movie lacks. Dredd though lives a monastic lifestyle but it doesn€™t mean we wont have a great time watching her looking good and kicking ass. Click "next" below to read part 2...
