Its not only horror directors who are subjected to references in Shaun of the Dead stars and characters of the genre also get a shout-out in Wrights send-up of the entire genre. Case in point, we get references to a fictitious pizza chain called Bubs Pizza throughout the film you can see one of their shops next to the newsagents in the single-shot Cornetto walk scene. The name is a reference to Bub, the slightly-smarter zombie in Day of the Dead. Shaun later emulates Bub when he has to walk through the zombie crowd outside the Winchester. A star of the aforementioned film, Ken Foree, is also referenced in one of the movies business names Shauns works at Foree Electrics.
