Wright's fourth major film, The World's End, represents his stab at science fiction, albeit with a social twist.Yet the inspiration for the film comes from the hard sci-fi 1977 Christopher Lee vehicle The End of the World, where a priest goes on a spiritual retreat and ends up encountering an Alien double intent on conquering the world. It€™s very obvious to see the inspiration for The World€™s End€™s plotline from this, with its story of body doubles intent on upgrading the world. The film€™s poster is also informed by its 1977 forebear, with the fire-ring design being applied to The World€™s End€™s pub sign. As well as this, both posters share the same colour scheme.
