Emilia Clarke Won't Be Back For Any Terminator Sequels

Probably a wise move.

Despite a negative response to last year's Terminator Genisys, Skydance are still pressing ahead with at least one more instalment in the franchise.

They're currently busy figuring out exactly what form that will take, after Genisys poor reception and box-office performance meant a direct follow-up wasn't an option. The film was roundly slated by critics and audiences, thanks to the fact that it was a bit of a mess, and only pulled in $440m, with the majority of that coming outside North America.

Now, while a sixth film in the franchise is expected to go ahead, Emilia Clarke won't be having anything to do with it. She played Sarah Connor in Genisys, but when asked by ComingSoon if she'd be back for more, her response was a swift: "No."

The Game of Thrones star followed up with: "Can I say that? It€™s okay. No. Uh-uh. But I have some very different roles coming up.€

Those roles include Me Before You, in which she will co-star alongside Sam Clafin (The Hunger Games), and of course her continued performance as Daenerys Targaryen in Thrones, with Season 6 getting underway in just a few days.

As for the Terminator franchise, it's unclear just when anything more will happen with it, especially after Paramount pulled the sequel from its schedule back in January, and we're now well over 20 years on from the last great Terminator film. Expect it to be back at some point, but not anytime soon.
