6. Batman: Bad Blood

Though it wasn't one of the two DC R-rated movies of 2016, Batman: Bad Blood is about as violent as the DC Animated movies get, and it's definitely among the better animations of the year. The action in particular is very good - better even than both Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman - with the opening scene a particular highlight.

Since we're not likely to get it in the mainline of films, it's nice to see a Batman movie concentrate on the supporting cast of the Batfamily, introducing Batwoman and Batwing. And while the story has some issues at times (it's a little light on depth of characterisation because there's so many of them), it's definitely still a good experience, even if it is a little on the hasty side.
