Nominations: 1 - Best Animated Feature Film

Ferdinand gets points for having a few positive messages and making the most of John Cena's earnest vocal performance, but from its unremarkable animation through to its trite presentation of the aforementioned messages, Ferdinand is really rather dull.

Charmless and forgettable, Ferdinand settles for generic, broad humour and hurls an irritating Kate McKinnon performance into the mix for bad measure.

It'll keep the kids quiet enough for 100 minutes, but given the potential for the movie to evoke an energetic Spanish flavour, it mostly just feels like a missed opportunity.
