The film was basically announced out of nowhere back in March, with Ava DuVernay announced as directing by Variety and Deadline.

Other than that, there's no real plot hints - other than the film focusing on the inhabitants of the twin planets of New Genesis and Apokolips created by Jack Kirby. Presumably, it'll all tie into Darkseid's role in the background of Justice League and Batman v Superman. Or maybe not?

It doesn't have a writer yet, though, so it might take some time to get out there.
