Every DC Movie That's Just Been Delayed

7. Wonder Woman 1984 (14 August 2019)

It’s fair to say that the scheduling for a release date for the Wonder Woman sequel has been a bit of a mess. Changes to the release date already occurring on three occasions, and likely to incur a fourth. The current release date for Wonder Woman 1984 is set for 14 August, 2020, but unless the world landscape changes markedly, in particular in the US, a fourth change in schedule looks likely. In fact a 2020 release looks far from a sure thing.

Director Paddy Jenkins only has herself to blame for the delay, as it was her who instigated the initial changes to the release date. Originally scheduled for a December 13 2019 and then a slightly earlier November 1 2019 release date, Jenkins convinced Warner Bros. to delay the film's premiere so she could ‘perfect’ the film. WB executives obliged and changed the release date to 5 June 2020, although according to Jenkins, they needn't have bothered.

Jenkins was later to declare the delays to the film's release proved to be unwarranted, as Wonder Woman 1984 was all good to go for of its original 2019 dates Considering any momentum built from the trailer release has long since dissipated, it would be fair to assume there would be more than a few questions raised about the decision to delay the release date for a movie that was, according to the Director, very much complete.
