10. Natalya Simonova - Goldeneye

Goldeneye is one of the best Bond films in regards to female characters and the writers got its main Bond Girl absolutely right, allowing her to provide a wonderful middle finger to everything wrong with the older Bond Girls.

Natalya Simonova (Izabella Scorupco) is an excellent sidekick because she's not just a pretty face. She's actually essential to the mission succeeding and her computer hacking skills help Bond many times throughout the assignment. She also survives a devastating attack on an outpost, where she works, all by herself.

Her and Bond's relationship is also nicely written with a good comedic vibe and a sense of affection missing in many other Bond Girls.

The actress is a little hit-or-miss, but Natalya is an otherwise a great example of what the main Bond Girl ideally should be: active, important to the mission's success and charming and likeable on-screen.
