Ant-Man (2015) and Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Edgar Wright's much-publicized departure from Ant-Man was a huge disappointment; had he stayed, a list like this would rank him highly. Unfortunately, he departed and we got... Peyton Reed instead.

It's a bit of mystery that Marvel thought the best way to replace a comedy auteur was with a random director of mediocre studio comedies, but they went ahead and did it anyway.

Ant-Man has some nice shots in the miniaturized scenes, but visually it's definitely one of the least-interesting Marvel films. If one wanted to argue the MCU has a problem with flat visuals, this would be a good example to use. Reed's direction isn't awful, but it really isn't very interesting and considering how much fun the film ultimately is, it's the shame the film is so disappointing on a directing level.

To be honest, it feels like a bit of a shame they couldn't have brought in someone else in for Ant-Man and the Wasp.
