34. Werewolf By Night (2022)

One of the MCU's most unusual experiments, Werewolf By Night is a 50-minute TV special directed by composer Michael Giacchino that follows a monster hunter (Gael García Bernal) who becomes cursed with lycanthropy.

Filmed in gorgeous black-and-white and leaning heavily into its 40s horror aesthetic, the special features strong performances and enticing visuals, but its short runtime leaves its story and characters too underdeveloped to stick in the mind.

Pretty and surprisingly dark as it may be, serving as a decent detachment from the franchise, Werewolf By Night is too thin to compliment its striking cinematography or Giacchino's gloomy score. Hopefully we see more down the road.
