8. Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3

Status: Director confirmed.
For a while there, it looked like the inevitable third Guardians Of The Galaxy movie wouldn't reunite James Gunn with his charming cast, but in the run-up to Vol 2's release, the director confirmed he's back for a trilogy ender. This is particularly good news, since Gunn basically IS this franchise, and his commitment and rampant fandom is exactly why the films work so well (and also, curiously why some critics call the second film "high on its own supply").
All we really know in terms of story detail is that this will mark the end of the current iteration of the Guardians (which sounds suspiciously like they might get killed off or disbanded), and that Gunn intends to use Adam Warlock in some way.
However it shapes up, we can expect delightful colours, gleeful sci-fi spirit and deep source references (and please, Mr Gunn, can we have some Hulk involvement?).
Hopefully, it also means we'll get Vol 3 of the Awesome Mix too.
