This week makes the beginning of the spookiest time of the year at Universal Orlando Resort.

Universal's Halloween Horror Nights is about to open its doors and unleash the fog on those who love all things scary. Each year the separately ticketed event brings thousands of horror fans to Orlando to experience 10 of the most detailed mazes, walk through 5 horrifying scare zones and even see a fiery show.

This year marks the 33rd anniversary of HHN and is set to be the biggest one yet. There's even more nights than before, plenty of food to enjoy and merchandise to snap up.

Part of what makes Universal's Halloween Horror Nights so great is the huge names that make the line up of houses each year. What's great about these famous IP houses is that as fans we are completely immersed in some our favourite movies from the moment we step foot in any house.

This year's HHN brings 4 huge names in the world of horror movies to its house line up...

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire

Step into the spooky world of the Ghostbusters as they take on a cold new foe. Based on Frozen Empire, the latest movie featuring our favourite proton wearing heroes, this house will see them battle Garraka. This escaped phantom god along with his army of ghosts are threatening to bring about a new Ice Age. This house will be certain to bring the chills to this year's HHN.

A Quiet Place

Just like in the first two movies from the John Krasinski, follow in the footsteps of the Abbott family as "monstrous creatures" with super-hearing turn Earth into a post-apocalyptic silent world, where even the slightest sound could be your end. You'll find yourself in all the familiar places from "A Quiet Place" and "A Quiet Place II," including the woods, the foundry and the Abbott's farmhouse.

As with the movies, American Sign Language will be a big part of this house. Will you stay quiet or will your screams expose you to the monsters?

Insidious: The Further

You'll find yourself coming face to face with the Insidious' infamous Red Door as you journey deeper and deeper into The Further. Once inside this house you'll encounter all the terrifying demons and creatures that reside there. From the Red-Faced Demon to Key Face, all kinds of terrors await for you. The question is, will you make it out or will they ensnare you?

Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines

In this all female house, you'll find yourself in a vengeful battle. The daughter of Dracula has vowed revenge on the Van Helsing bloodline and the daughter of the famous monster hunter, Saskia Van Helsing is in her sights. In her journey to find retribution she teams up with the She-Wolf. The trouble is hunter Saskia has also formed an unlikely alliance with the Bride of Frankenstein.

Who will win in this ultimate battle and will you find yourself a victim in this bloody tale of revenge?
