The final crossover picture is being touted as the final Evil Dead film, at least it is in all current plans for the series. For all intents and purposes, it should be the final film, simply because the series has gone on for long enough. While it's taken this long to finally get a new film up and running, there have been all sorts of tie-ins that have kept the series alive with a shallow pulse. Ash never totally left us, as comics and video games especially kept him alive for us geeks to enjoy. The series has lead a full and healthy life, and all that's left now is to give it a definitive end. An end that will once and for all let the series go out in style, and probably put The Necromicon somewhere out of reach. Hopefully this ending will also see Ash finally at peace, be it in life or death. Either way, he's earned a permanent respite from killing hordes of the undead. Mia, on the other hand, is probably going to have to die to secure this peace. Both heroes probably won't live in the end, and Mia is the hero that seems set up for the tragic fall. She's lost everyone she loves, she's been haunted by events she'll never forget, and in the end she'll have gone out bravely avenging those she's lost. In the end, this series has to do just that... end.
