Fantastic Beasts: 10 Rumours That Proved To Be Bullsh*t
10. It's Going To Be A Trilogy
Yes, even this most fundamental of rumours proved to be totally inaccurate. It's somewhat understandable. These days, trilogies are fairly commonplace - any franchise worth its salt can draw out its story over the course of three movies (even if that's not such a wise idea, cough Hobbit cough splutter splutter).
Less common is the quintilogy, a series that spans five films. Yet just a month prior to its release J.K. Rowling confirmed Fantastic Beasts would be just that. According to Rowling all of the plotting has been done and the story is one that absolutely demands to be told in a quintilogy.
Frankly, this is a rumour I'm glad to see was bullsh*t, given the fact Rowling has no constraints on where she takes the story. With plenty of breathing room, the scope for building a narrative worthy of being associated with the Harry Potter name is high.
