Fantastic Beasts 2: 11 Major Plot Reveals From Comic-Con 2018 Trailer
1. Someone Will Probably Die
We see Jacob being attacked by the blue flame, with a rather badass dragon inside it, at what looks like a similar point, and he'll be a target because he's a Muggle. He likely won't die either, but with Queenie potentially heavily involved with Grindelwald, could she sacrifice herself to save him?
The other, even likelier option, is that it's Theseus who is killed by Grindelwald. It fits his background of being a courageous war hero, and as a more skilled fighter than Newt (and an Auror, no less) he'd be someone the wizard would look to remove.
It'd be a devastating blow to Newt that would give him a more personal involvement in the fight, fit with the kinds of deaths Rowling likes to write (it'd be very Cedric Diggory, basically), and ensure the darkness of the movie is really earned but without killing off one of the main characters.
