Fantastic Four Reboot: 10 Ways To Guarantee It Won't Suck

It's true: both cinematic adaptations of the Fantastic Four thus far have sucked. Here's how to ensure that the upcoming version, just like The Thing, totally "rocks."

Somewhat inevitably, it's reboot time again. According to Fox, they're rebooting Fantastic Four with a view to having it ready to release in the vastly overcrowded 2015. In case you hadn't realised, we already had two Fantastic Four films in the 2000s, all of which starred Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis as The Thing. They weren't exactly terrible, but they were far from brilliant; both were released in the weird wasteland between Raimi's Spider-Man and Favreau's Iron Man, so they seem to suffer from some problems with identity. Chris Evans is great as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, but he's really the only saviour of the films, which all too often get bogged down in cheese, sentimentality and awful humour, including a dance scene in the sequel that almost makes Spider-Man 3's emo jazz club catastrophe seem like a welcomed addition. However, the two films combined grossed more than $600 million combined at the box office, so it's no surprise that Fox is rebooting the franchise, making sure they get their money's worth before their rights run out. It does feel like the whole project is being rushed into production before the whole superhero bubble pops, of course, what with the news yesterday that shooting will begin as earlier s March 31st. Despite reservations, hopes are high that the film will turn out well, but expectations have to be tempered. With that in mind, I've compiled a list of 10 ways to make sure it won't suck...
