During a recent interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Vin Diesel let slip a crucial tease about where the series might be heading next, saying, "Kurt Russell came in for this movie, but we really hired him for a story that follows this, that takes place in New York". After seven movies which globe-trotted around the world but had their heart in Los Angeles, it'd be interesting to see the series head across the coast to New York, which of course played host to one of the most memorable car chases in cinema history in 1971's The French Connection. The city would certainly provide a visually lush canvas on which to shoot some insane car chases and explosive set-pieces. Just look at how fantastically it worked out for The Avengers.
