7. The Sex Scenes Are Boring & Brief (Again)

Universal

Perhaps the worst thing about this entire franchise is the disappointingly tame and vanilla nature of the sex scenes, especially considering how graphically they're detailed in E.L. James' source material.

Fifty Shades Freed continues the trend by scaling back the kink even more than in the previous film, with barely 10 minutes of actual sex in the entire movie, almost all of which shows nothing more than bare breasts and butt.

It certainly doesn't help that the action-heavy third act doesn't give Ana (Dakota Johnson) and Christian (Jamie Dornan) much of an opportunity to get down to business.

Basically, unless you're a severely repressed middle-aged housewife with an aversion to actual porn, there's little chance of you actually getting much aroused by what's shown on screen. Considering the sex is clearly the main attraction of these films, that's a serious failing.
