While there are many debates to be had about whether women should be fawning over the story's central relationship considering how some consider it to be "abusive", what's clear is that, whether it's unhealthy or not, Christian Grey is a freaking creep. His overwhelming desire for control of every aspect of his life means that he shows up unannounced at Ana's abode more than once, and even though he usually comes brandishing gifts (be it a bottle of wine or a new computer), it's still hard to root for the romance when it's so unsavourily one-sided. It'd certainly be easy for someone to re-edit the movie into a horror film in the future, and frankly, it's almost a disappointment that the film didn't just turn into an American Psycho-esque gorefest at the half-way point.
