Mortal Kombat much?

Actually speaking of Mortal Kombat, I always thought Mummy director Rob Cohen would end up with that franchise if/when a new movie ever gets off the ground. Not that I want him to end up with it, in fact very much the opposite... but his filmography and his love for martial arts and all things Jet Li and Bruce Lee would make him push for the gig. And after all, he's neck and neck with Paul W.S. Anderson (director of the first MK movie) in delivering studio hack jobs from action franchises, it just seems so obvious he will end up with the gig. Shiver!
