German actor & star of The Lives of Others loses battle with cancer
Ulrich Muhe, the star and face of the Oscar winning film The Lives of Others has died at his home in Germany after losing his battle with stomach cancer. He was 54. Muhe had received critical acclaim for his role in the movie which won the Best Foreign Language award at this year's Oscars ahead of Pan's Labyrinth which was a shock to many. I've never seen any of his performances but I am really looking forward to seeing The Lives of Others, which will now forever be the movie he is most remembered for. Muhe is survived by his wife and their two children along with a child from his previous marriage to German actress Jenny Grollmann who herself died in August last year from cancer. source - imdb news
