We all know Hollywood revolves around money. If a film doesnt make enough revenue, its not getting a sequel. And if a film strikes box-office gold, you just know producers will milk it as much as they can. If the general rumours of what will happen in Ghostbusters 3 are true, the film will end with a new team replacing the old one. Seeing the original team leave and having a younger team taking their place would pave the way for an entirely new Ghostbusters franchise. But without the original team, is it still Ghostbusters? If Die Hard doesnt have John McClane, is it still Die Hard? If Toy Story didnt have Woody and Buzz, would it still be Toy Story? It might be a Ghostbusters film in name, but as I said in the last point, its the characters of Venkman, Ray, Egon and Winston that made the other films truly great.
