13. Mothra Shines

By far the most ridiculous of the creatures set to be featured in the movie is Mothra, the gigantic moth which nevertheless appears to have been transformed into an incredibly bada** creature more palatable for Hollywood blockbuster audiences (and that's not a complaint).

As the narration states that these creatures have been in hiding for thousands of years, we see Mothra appearing to emerge from hibernation, emitting a bright flash which leaves the assembled scientists absolutely stunned (and rightly so).

Perhaps for fear of scaring off the casual crowds, Mothra's presence is downplayed pretty significantly compared to the movie's other monsters here, but what we've seen of her is still massively encouraging regardless.
