13. The Insane Anti-Gravity Scene

When Kong, Nathan, and the rest of the team enter the portal in Antarctica to reach Hollow Earth, we're treated to one of the strangest and most visually stunning sequences in the entire movie.

As the ship passes through the portal, contending against the mammoth forces of pressure exerted by the gravity field within, Nathan and company experience a surreal, mind-melting light-show that feels like a pointed nod to the iconic Star Gate sequence from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

In this case it doesn't last long, but it's nevertheless a fascinating and slightly terrifying expansion of the wonders residing within the MonsterVerse.
