Gotham Is Crumbling In THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Teaser Poster!

Things don't look like they are gonna be all fun and games for Bruce Wayne in the final entry in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy.

As promised earlier in the week, Warner Bros have revealed the very first teaser poster for The Dark Knight Rises and things sure look awfully foreboding for Bruce Wayne in the final entry in Christopher Nolan's epic Batman trilogy. In a prophecy poster that Nostradamus would have been proud of, Gotham is crumbling to the ground and one of the more enjoyable Batman conversations at the WhatCulture! water colour these days is trying to figure out just how far Nolan will go with the darkness in his final movie. How much of a definitive ending, if you get me, will he give to Bruce Wayne, Batman and the city he is trying to protect. This is the second official look at The Dark Knight Rises, just 8 days from being a year away before release, the previous being a glimpse at the bulked up Tom Hardy as the villainous Bane. The film is in the middle of shooting but Nolan is already happy to tease and prod our excitement. Warner Bros aren't doing the Comic Con thing this year but a teaser trailer is set to be attached to the worldwide release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 that opens this Friday. At the press screenings we have attended in the past week, WB haven't attached the trailer, so the footage is still a mystery, but hopefully we will see them online on Friday.... though as we've said before don't expect much. Nolan's early teasers don't usually give much away. Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Nestor Carbonell (as the Mayor of Gotham) all return with new faces being Anne Hathaway (Catwoman), Tom Hardy (Bane), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Donald Blake, a cop), Marion Cotillard (Miranda Tate, an employee of Wayne Enterprises), Juno Temple (probably Holly Robinson, a young girl on the streets of Gotham who Catwoman takes in), Josh Pence (a young Ra's Al Ghul in flashbacks) and more. The Dark Knight Rises is due July 20th, 2012.
