Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 Is Definitely Coming Home To Earth

Is Star-Lord coming home?

As of yet, there's limited information to be had on the Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 front. We know James Gunn is involved, that the core cast is back and that there are new cast additions (without too much concrete confirmation of who is playing who), but details like plot and who the villains remains conspicuously veiled in secrecy.

What we do know, however, is that the film will at least partly be set on Earth. Last week, the production transformed a street in Georgia into St Charles, Missouri - the home town of Peter Quill before he was whisked off into space.

Footage from the set has now appeared on Facebook, thanks to one Allison Parker Hill, which shows extras fleeing something invisible - presumably to be added in post-production with effects - that is strong enough to flip cars out of the way.

So we're looking at two possibilities here: either this is a flashback establishing who Star-Lord's father is and where he went in the wake of seducing Quill's mother, or Quill Jr is heading back to Earth. Perhaps someone else looking for his father is drawn back to St Charles in their own hunt for him and the Guardians follow the same thread?

There's also a full gallery of images from the set, including fake shopfronts including Easter Egg nods to Jack Kirby and writers Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning here.
