9. The Empire Approach

Obviously, actual story details from the screening have been conspicuously absent from the social media response (because that wades too far into embargo breaking territory), but Mike Ryan does reveal the specifics of what the film takes from The Empire Strikes Back.

The disjointed narrative approach explains why James Gunn specifically name-checked the second Star Wars movie recently, and it's a smart approach to take to help balance the characters and given them enough story to play with.

Unfortunately, not everyone seems to have been taken with that approach...
