The second phase of the Marvel cinematic universe is currently in full swing, building towards The Avengers sequel's release in 2015, but not before the super-powered shared universe goes truly cosmic with the release of a Guardians of the Galaxy movie in August 2014. The film will follow the exploits of a team of ex-cons turned heroes, led by an American pilot, going on the run to safeguard a highly-coveted and extremely powerful object (which we can safely assume is either the Tesseract or Infinity Gauntlet) in order to keep it out of the hands of would-be evil-doers who are intent on using it to cause universal chaos. The movie does, however, run the risk of feeling somewhat out-of-sync with the rest of the movies in the Marvel cinematic universe, based purely on the fact that the scale of what we've seen so far will expand enormously and the beings we will see in this movie will be so much weirder than even the likes of the Hulk, the Frost Giants and the Chitauri. Having said that, the same could have been said of the likes of Thor, but that was pulled off very well. If this film is to succeed, it needs to seamlessly blend in with the comparatively smaller-scale universe we've been exposed to so far, whilst still pulling off the 'epic' tag that Marvel fans will be expecting. With that in mind, here are five things we want to see in Guardians of the Galaxy...
