Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Main Trailer: 10 Things We Want To See
The teaser got us hooked, but there was nowhere near enough Baby Groot.
The world is once again hooked on a feeling.
Last week Marvel unveiled the first look at Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, with a poster swiftly followed by a teaser trailer.
Given so many huge films release their first teasers over a year in advance, it's amazing - and refreshing - that it took this long to get one for Guardians, since we're *only* seven months away from release.
Of course, now that we've had that first tease, we're left wanting a lot more. The teaser was a great reintroduction to these characters, a perfect blend of the weirdness, heart, and humour that made the first film so wonderful.
However, it was a little short on, well, everything. Again, no bad thing, but there's still so much we haven't seen and don't know about the movie. Not spoiling too much is good, but the main trailer will still have to show us a little bit more.
Here, we only had glimpses of the Guardians, one snippet of dialogue, no sign of the new characters, and absolutely nowhere near enough Baby Groot. With the main trailer, that's something they'll need to change.
10. Some Plot Hints
The teaser is a minute-and-a-half long, and within that we have a few cool scenes - all of them, though, without any context to place them in.
That's typically true of any trailer, especially early ones when little is known about the film. Here, we don't really get any hints towards the plot beyond what we already know; namely, the Guardians will travel to that woodland planet we see, and that's where they'll meet Ego, aka Peter Quill's father.
Even that relies on outside information, and beyond it there's no real hint of story. I don't need to know every plot detail, but it'd be good to see the main trailer drop a few more clues as to what we can expect from the film's narrative.
