Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 Teaser Breakdown: 15 Things You Must See
Baby Groot FTW, obviously.
It feels like an age since James Gunn first told Guardians Of The Galaxy fans to be more patient and stop hounding him for news of the first trailer for the hotly anticipated sequel. So far he's reserved the right to refuse any information (despite his happiness to publicise the film heavily in Q&A social media sessions), but now he's dropped the news that a trailer is coming.
And not only that but he's also pushed out the first footage of the film to his adoring public in the shape of a Sneak Peak/Teaser that is destined to be watched millions of times. It's quite a substantial teaser for what amounts to a trailer trailer, with the hugely valuable reveal of Baby Groot not kept hidden until the main event. (It's not a trailer teaser, to be clear: Gunn has confirmed they will be separate entities entirely.)
Incidentally, if Baby Groot isn't immediately your favourite character of this - or any - year, you've not paid attention hard enough. But there's a lot more in there in the shape of teases, little character details and downright dirty flirtations
Here's everything you need to see from the teaser sneak peek. It's going to be brilliant. Obviously.
15. Know Your Reference Points
If you're getting a sharp pull on the Star Wars centre of your brain, it's probably no coincidence.
The first shot is of course the interior of the Milano - Peter Quill's ship - which owes not only its spirit but some of its aesthetics to that other famous Disney owned starship, the Millennium Falcon.
The circular corridors are clearly inspired by the Falcon, and a lot of the interior design takes nods from Han Solo's ship, including the cockpit, which is almost a clone...
Even the set up - "monster", Chosen One then bad-ass anti-hero is mirrored.
