8. Jamie Stabs Darlene Carruthers (Halloween 4: The Return Of Michael Myers)
Halloween 4 is a pretty naff, unceremonious return for Michael Myers, but it does at least serve up one of the most legitimately chilling and unexpected endings of the series.
The movie primarily revolves around Michael attempting to kill his niece Jamie Lloyd (Danielle Harris), but once Michael has been shot down a mine shaft and everything's preparing to wrap up, there's one devastating final stinger to come.
Jamie's foster mother Darlene Carruthers (Karen Alston) runs her a bath, at which point Jamie pulls a Michael and stabs her. She then appears at the top of the stairs in a clown costume brandishing a pair of bloody scissors, mirroring Michael's own first act of murder and seeming to suggest she's destined to follow in his footsteps.
It's an intensely disturbing moment in an otherwise terrible sequel, though it's sadly retconned somewhat by the next movie, where it's revealed that Darlene actually survived the attack. Rubbish.
